Work Shifts:
12:00 A.M - 8:00 A.M
Working under the close supervision of licensed medical professionals, this role involves a diverse range of clerical and healthcare-related tasks in a medical setting to support patient care.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Checking vital signs, measuring patients, and recording findings on patient charts.
- Instructing patients on specimen collection for laboratory testing and conducting basic screening tests.
- Preparing specimens for pickup by ensuring proper labeling.
- Conducting vision, hearing tests, and basic urinalysis.
- Administering emergency first aid and basic life support procedures.
- Providing simple first aid treatments like dressing changes, bandaging, wound cleansing, and ear irrigation.
- Assisting medical providers during examinations and preparing examination rooms.
- Guiding patients on preparation for medical tests.
- Collecting, processing, and filing patient charts and documents.
- Reporting patient observations to clinical staff.
- Responding to patient inquiries and providing necessary information and referrals.
- Informing patients and families about healthcare services and healthy living.
- Maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborating effectively within the care team and supporting new employee orientation.
- Escorting patients to other departments or healthcare settings.
- Coordinating appointments and entering patient information in EMR systems.
- Collecting blood specimens through venipuncture or fingerstick testing.
- Operating electrocardiograph equipment for heart monitoring.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent recognized by a State's Department of Education or accrediting organization.
- Completion of NYS Department of Health Phlebotomy training and healthcare-based training in EKG and basic life support.
- Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Special Note:
For roles in long-term care facilities, a New York State Nurse's Aide Certificate is required in addition to the qualifications mentioned above.
