Ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable subway vehicles is what our passengers in Hamburg expect. And we deliver on that expectation with the support of approximately 250 competent and dedicated technical professionals.

Our industrial mechanics are interested in everything related to power and movement, making them essential for the smooth operation of mechanical components on the subway.

That's where we need your support.


Your tasks with us:

  • Together, we keep Hamburg's subways running smoothly.
  • This includes maintenance, repairs, and replacing old parts with new ones.
  • If something isn't working, you investigate the cause of the malfunction.
  • You manufacture and install subway spare parts.
  • You monitor the functionality of work and special machines.
  • You operate machine tools.

Your profile:

  • You have a good secondary or high school diploma.
  • Mechanics and technology make your heart beat faster.
  • You have a passion for working with machines and are skilled in craftsmanship.
  • You are reliable, responsible, and dedicated.

Duration of the apprenticeship:
3.5 years (can be shortened to 3 years with good academic and company performance)


Training locations:

  • Vocational school: BS 04 Berufliche Schule Stahl und Maschinenbau
  • Hamburger Ausbildungszentrum (HAZ)
  • Block lessons
