In-home Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Job Overview:
As an In-home Registered Behavior Technician at Ayers Autism Health, you will play a crucial role in delivering individualized behavior therapy to children and individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in the comfort of their own homes.
Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will be responsible for implementing behavior intervention plans, tracking progress, and helping clients develop critical life skills to achieve their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Deliver 1:1 therapy sessions based on Individualized Treatment plans developed by the BCBA. Utilize applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to reinforce positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
Data Collection and Progress Monitoring:
Accurately record and track data during therapy sessions. Analyze data to assess client progress and communicate findings to the supervising BCBA to inform treatment decisions.
Conduct Skill Acquisition Programs:
Work with clients to teach and reinforce various life skills, including communication, social skills, self-help skills, and adaptive behaviors, based on their individualized treatment plans.

Family Members:
Maintain open communication with the supervising BCBA to ensure treatment plans align with client goals. Collaborate with family members and caregivers to provide training and support for generalization of skills outside of therapy sessions.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes positive learning experiences and facilitates skill development.
Continuous Professional Development:
Stay up-to-date with the latest research, ABA practices, and relevant training to enhance your knowledge and skills in providing effective autism therapy.
Qualifications and Requirements:
RBT Certification:
Possess a valid and active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Education:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education or coursework in psychology, education, or related fields is preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is advantageous, but not mandatory. We welcome both experienced professionals and recent graduates with relevant qualifications and a passion for making a difference.
ABA Knowledge:
Familiarity with applied behavior analysis principles and techniques is desirable. Additional training or willingness to participate in training provided by Ayers Autism Health will be given high regard.
Compassionate and Patient:
Possess a genuine passion for helping individuals with autism and the ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding throughout the therapy process.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility:
Ability to adapt to the needs and schedules of clients and families. This role may require working on evenings and weekends to accommodate client availability.
Valid Driver's License:
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary for traveling to clients' homes for in-home therapy sessions.
BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time. Must be willing and able to contain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan during therapy with children with challenging behavior.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Registered Behavior Technician Credentialed by the BACB
Preferred:
Experience working with children ages 0-16 providing care in the learning
environment or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles of ABA
EDUCATION:
Required:
High School Diploma.
