Summary
Join our Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) to help ensure safety and habitability aboard U.S. Navy warships. With over a century of experience, HII is dedicated to maintaining the Navy's readiness. As the Ships Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance for U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers' engineering systems.

  • Must have a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Badge or Common Access Card(CAC) to begin.

What You Will Do

  • Plans, prepares, and controls production schedules, coordinating with material requirements to ensure a smooth flow of materials to meet production needs.
  • Updates management on work progress, material availability, and potential production issues to ensure seamless operations.
  • Coordinates activities between departments, schedules equipment and personnel, and ensures material supply meets demand.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activities to expedite parts movement.

What You Must Have

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 4 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree; or equivalent experience with a High School Diploma and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a shipyard environment is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both management and the team are essential.

Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Strong communication skills and experience with planning and network scheduling techniques are preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other software, along with experience in Naval shipbuilding and maintenance processes, are desirable.
  • Familiarity with Navy's Maintenance, Material, Management (3M) supply system is a plus.
  • General knowledge of quality assurance practices and the ability to read engineering drawings are advantageous.

Physical Requirements
May require working in various environments. Must be capable of climbing ladders and working in confined spaces with extreme temperature changes.
