    Job Description

    We are seeking a

    Claims Specialist

    for our

    Commercial Property Claims Group

    in our

    Alpharetta, GA, Charlotte, NC, or Chicago, IL office .


    As the Claims Specialist, you will provide adjustment oversight of Sompo International's North American First Party Property product line claims.

    The role will deliver key insights and analysis on complex high exposures for Middle Market, Shared and Layered, Excess and Surplus Commercial based property lines.

    There will also be an emphasis placed on our Managed Property Captive Programs, and Facultative Reinsurance Placements.


    Responsibilities:
    Process Commercial Property claims exposures for North American Property Business units
    Evaluate exposures and make claim decisions for the first party property claims and other lines of business as needed
    Manage loss adjustment expense to ensure a highly efficient claim outcomes
    Create exposure reports for Underwriting, Senior Management and Reinsurers
    Partner with actuary, cede re, underwriting, operations, and finance teams for reporting on trends, reserves, and claim metrics
    Develop and maintain successful working relationships with brokers, agents, and business partners
    Provide guidance for coverage, liability, and damages analysis for complex first party property claims
    Oversee managed Property Captive Programs and Facultative placements
    Participate in industry focus groups and other organizations to maintain insight into market trends and innovations
    Proactively identify trends and exposures that may affect the portfolios for which the position is responsible


    Skills & Qualifications:
    3-5 years insurance or market experience in commercial property or other lines of business
    Experience handling complex high profile and high exposure first party property damage and business interruption claims
    Experience handling market quota-share, shared and layered, and excess claims
    Technical skillsets in claims systems such as Claims Center, ImageRight, Guidewire, or any in-house systems
    Capability to effectively communicate information and ideas with strong organization skillsets
    Ability to establish and expand working relationships with other departments
