DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


As a Nurse Manager, you will serve as an assistant to the Clinical Services Manager in planning, organizing, and directing the administrative and clinical functions of the Nursing Department for the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home.

Some of your duties will include evaluating the content and quality of nursing team treatment plans to ensure that the best care is provided to our veterans.

You will also aid in the supervision of staff by planning new orientations and explaining work policies to existing staff members.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM (3rd shift), Monday
  • Friday, with a 30minute lunch.
  • You may be required to work weekends as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Two years as a Registered Nurse Supervisor or three years as a Registered Nurse Instructor (commonwealth titles) in a facility providing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability;
    or:
  • Six years of professional nursing experience, which includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration.
A master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration may be substituted for up to one year of the required general professional nursing work experience_;_
or:


  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability.

Special Requirements:


  • You are required to have active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:


  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:


  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
