Children's Activities Coordinator - Los Angeles, United States - Advance Nursing Services
Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for residents, taking into consideration their individual needs and interests.
- Plan and organize a variety of activities, events, and outings that promote socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth execution of activities and events.
- Provide counseling and support to residents on aging issues, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to address the emotional and psychological needs of residents.
- Manage the schedule of activities, ensuring that they are wellbalanced and meet the preferences of residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
- Previous experience working with older adults or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- Knowledge of aging issues, including ADLs and common challenges faced by older adults.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute a variety of activities for diverse groups of individuals.
- Excellent time management skills to effectively manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor to provide emotional support to residents.
