Summary
As a Purchasing employee, an individual will be responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services such as materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies related to mechanical and electrical needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities _include the following. Other duties may be assigned._
Purchases the highest quality materials at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
Determines inventory levels of items, sets reorder quantities.
Prepares purchase orders, solicits bid proposals and review requisitions.
Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier's reputation and history.
Negotiates or renegotiates, administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives.
Monitor's shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.
Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.
Maintains and reviews computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance and inventories.
- Follows all company policies, procedures and safety rules. Conducts self at all times in a professional, ethical and courteous manner as a representative of Viocity Group.

Education and/or Experience
- Three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills _To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of_
- Database software, Internet software, Accounting software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Driver's license to travel to various customer locations and job sites, or be able to provide own transportation.
