Description

CWTC is looking for DSPs to provide direct support care for our consumers in our CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) Facilities.

The job duties are but are not limited to maintaining a clean and sanitary bedroom and bathroom, assisting with daily hygiene, ADLs, meal preparations, medication administration, etc.

DSPs participating as a member of the team will be assisting individuals to be as independent as they possibly can.


Previous DSP or CNA certification, experience as a CNA or in the Healthcare, Caregiver, Direct Care field is preferred, but it is not a requirement.

CWTC provides paid training and certification to individuals hired who do not have the necessary DSP certification and/or CPR/FA/AED certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


  • Assist or perform programming to help residents with disabilities obtain Discovery Plan goals
  • Assist residents with maintaining personal hygiene by assisting with bathing, brushing hair and teeth or other self-care needs.
  • Changing and washing soiled linens and/or clothing and assisting with laundry as needed
  • Participate on activities with residents including transportation of residents
  • Assist residents with mobility as needed
  • Assist with the preparation of or prepare meals for residents
  • Assist residents in maintaining a safe and sanitary bedroom and/or bathroom including making beds, putting personal items away and keeping floors clean and free of tripping hazards
  • Teach daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning and shopping.
  • Daily cleaning of facility, laundry, bed checks (if shift requires) and water temperature checks (if required)
  • Medication administration
  • Complete required paperwork completely and accurately

OTHER DUTIES:


  • Transportation of or escorting of residents as needed
  • Coordinate medical appointments with assistance of house manager
  • Attend staff meetings and required trainings
  • Perform other tasks, not inconsistent with qualifications or regular duties as assigned

RELATED CONDITION:

All employees are responsible for reporting any information, however acquired, pertaining to possible abuse or neglect of consumers to the Safety Director, or the Executive Director.


SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION:
Employees must follow all safety policies and use necessary protective equipment when applicable. Employees are responsible for reporting safety hazards and/or accidents to their supervisors immediately.
