- Set-ups, maintains set-up, and operates within tolerances and specifications as directed by the supervisor or written documentation.
- Reads and interprets all drawing necessary to perform the assigned production operations.
- Adapts tooling, mounts cutting tools, sets feeds and speeds, determines number of cuts required to obtain results, and makes all necessary adjustments.
- Lays out, hand fits and assembles all parts for tools, dies, jigs and fixtures.
- Designs and constructs temporary tools and fixtures required.
- Inspects own work and uses precision measuring instruments to check work against prescribed tolerances.
- Lifts and moves heavy objects.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
- Must be able to perform advanced geometry and trigonometry calculations.
- Must be capable of performing effectively as a Machinist Journey Level.
- Three (3) years of Journey Level work experience or six (6) years of concentrated machining training.
- High school Diploma or GED required, AA in technical field preferred.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 25 pounds.
- This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a "U.S. Person" as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

YOUR DAY TO DAY:
To perform difficult set-ups and machining operations on standard machine tools using all accessory tools and equipment necessary to build intricate parts or mechanisms required for prototype products. May construct and repair tools, dis, jigs, and fixtures, under minimum supervision.
