MUST BE 18 OR OLDER.
The merchandising supervisor will act as a field representative for Masterpiece Flower Company LLC.

The purpose of this position is to manage the merchandising staff as well as to create and maintain great looking plant displays at our customer's location.

This job requires the merchandiser perform physical tasks as well as maintain professional and courteous communication with store associates, merchandisers and the Masterpiece Flower Company staff.

This is a full time position, dependent on market needs and/or sales management's discretion.
Position will involve supervision of merchandising for a predetermined territory of four stores
Position also includes coordinating disciplinary actions and/or terminations with the HR department as required.

This position requires heavy pushing and pulling of shipping carts (approximate weight 800 lbs) across parking lots and through garden centers.
Must be able to climb ladders
Must be willing to work in inclement weather (rain, snow, wind)
Must be able to lift 40# total, and 20# over their head
Frequently bend, crouch, kneel, twist and raise their arms above their head
Frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position plants and/or other merchandise weighing up to 40# to stock floor and create/maintain displays
Typically must stand for two to three hours at a time

Education and/or Experience

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required for receiving, modifying and sending back documents to the main office for weekly reporting
Must be proficient in using the Internet in order to use our webbased time clock systems and payroll software

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Merchandising supervisors would be responsible for unloading and maintaining all products from Masterpiece Flower Company LLC
Good communication skills are needed to build relationships between the merchandiser, our sales staff, and the assigned stores.
Merchandising supervisors are responsible for creating and communicating work schedules for their employees. Work schedules must adhere to the merchandising budget approved by the sales manager at Masterpiece Flower Company.
Maintain a safe work environment for the merchandisers and customers
Travel will be required between stores as well as 12 meetings per year in Byron Center, Michigan or Chicago, IL as directed by sales management
Appropriate attire and work ethic are essential
Professional and respectful communication skills are also essential

Supervisory Responsibilities

Position requires supervision over 525 seasonal merchandisers. This will include interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling. Including and not limited to staff administration of seasonal personnel.
Supervisors may be expected to work over the average 40 hours per week during peak times (April-June and November15-December 20). During these peak seasons working on the weekend may be required. In addition, some positions require working floral holiday including Valentine's Day and Easter (this applies to any merchandising supervisor with floral responsibilities)

Compensation:

Hourly rate with time and a half paid over 40 hours/week.
Mileage reimbursement at current rate (see website for current rate information) after the first 30 miles per day.
