- Quality Improvement- participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care process, reduce surgical risks, and improve outcomes.
- Professional Development- stay abreast of current evidence-based practices, attend continuing education opportunities, and maintain professional certifications and licensure.
- Call responsibilities as required by the department needs
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in West Virginia
- BLS required within orientation periods
- ACLS and PALS required within first year.
- Prior experience in perioperative nursing or surgical services preferred. New graduates may be considered
- Proficient clinical assessment skills, critical thinking abilities and strong communication skills. Ability to prioritize, work effectively under pressure and collaborate with multidisciplinary team.

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Surgical Services.
As an RN in the OR you will play a crucial role in providing safe and effective patient care before, during and after surgical procedures.
You will collaborate with surgeons, CRNA, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Responsibilities:
Preoperative Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive assessment of patients prior to surgery, including reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, and verifying consent forms.
Surgical Preparation:
Assist in preparing patients for surgery by providing preoperative education, ensuring proper positioning, and verifying surgical site markings.
Intraoperative Support:
Provide skilled nursing care during surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs, assisting CRNA duties and maintaining a sterile environment.
Surgical Assistance:
Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and aid as required.
Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process, including addressing concerns, providing emotional support and promoting effective communication.
Postoperative Care:
Monitor patients during the immediate postoperative period, assessing for complications, managing pain, and facilitating recovery.
Documentation and Communication:
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes in electronic health records and communicate pertinent information to the healthcare team.
