JOB DESCRIPTION:


  • PLACE OF WORK: _Guest rooms, linen and linen chute room, storage closets, mechanical rooms.
  • JOB OVERVIEW:_ Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness for all guest rooms, overseeing room attendants and their performance.
Responsible for continuous training of housekeeping staff. The Executive Housekeeping Manager will have a positive and friendly demeanor towards all, providing excellent service to hotel guests and overall representing the company in a professional manner.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:_

Essential:


  • Possess a good command of the English language and can clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests and coworkers
  • Previous Housekeeping leadership experience
  • Physically able to work 8-hour shifts or more when necessary
  • Must take initiative and display leadership qualities
  • Thorough knowledge of hotel services and facilities

Desired:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS:_

Essential:


  • Must have professional image; ensuring all members of the housekeeping staff are in uniform.
  • Be an ambassador of The Lodge Red Hook always, in and outside of one's workplace.
  • Ability to always display a pleasant demeanor with both guests and fellow team members.
  • Ability to work together as a team, working to benefit the whole hotel and not just a single department. Effectively communicates all needs and information to the correct department/team member utilizing Nuvola.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and available to work on weekends and holidays.
  • Must be at work on time and ready for all scheduled shifts.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work well independently with little supervision
  • Must be thorough in completing all tasks, following all SOP's, and not taking shortcuts. All items must be logged and timed through Nuvola.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Keeps work area clean, organized and always presentable
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all guests and general hotel information

DAILY JOB FUNCTIONS:_


  • Evaluate the staffing requirements and prepare work schedules weekly, adhering to budget goals.
  • Ensure that sufficient staffing is present to meet the daily business demands.
  • Handle disciplinary counseling as needed.
  • Conduct daily meetings and communicate anticipated business demands with all necessary staff to prepare for the day.
  • Ensure all staff is signing out keys in accordance with the Key Log procedure
  • Ensure staff's knowledge of hotel services, features, and amenities.
  • Assign specific tasks to the staff as they arise through Nuvola and ensure tasks are completed in the allotted time frame.
  • Monitor and ensure that the housekeeping staff performs their job functions to the hotel's expected level of service.
  • Assist the housekeeping staff whenever necessary in performing all job functions to complete the tasks quickly and efficiently.
  • Conduct ongoing training with existing staff and ensure that new staff are certified as required. Use formal training tactics such as Room Inspections, keeping track of scores and noting any skills that need work. A minimum of 12 formal room inspections are required per shift.
  • Accommodate all guest requests in an accurate and efficient manner, follow up within twenty minutes. All requests must be logged onto Nuvola.
  • Coordinate all group room requests and needs.
  • Inspect all rooms, including check out, stayover, and vacant clean rooms. update the system to reflect room status.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and working conditions of equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare work orders using Nuvola for building and guest room issues.
  • Ensure all items on all the checklists for housekeeping are completed before the end of the shift.
  • Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to be on the floor with the housekeeping team a minimum of 75% of the shift assisting, inspecting and training the team.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:_


  • Maintain organization of storage rooms and public spaces throughout shift.
  • Ensure that the deep clean schedule is being followed.

$50, $60,000.00 per year
