Description
SUMMARY
The General Superintendent is a business partner with overall responsibility for success and profitability of the construction operations of the Company.
Responsible for administering corporate organizational procedures and policies by performing the primary duties outlined below, either personally or through subordinate managers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following and other assigned duties:
Standardized preparation meetings with each trade before each feature of works starts. Deep-dive review of the approved submittals plans and specs before any work commences.
Standardized Site Logistics Plan.
All projects must update this plan on a weekly basis and post it in the site office.
The superintendent must own the schedule and provide weekly updates to the project schedule on a weekly basis. The General Superintendent must have a working knowledge of MS Project and/or P6.
Daily Reports.
Monitor daily reports to ensure they are being completed correctly.
Pictures need to be taken from the same location.
Work with Todd to develop a template and instructions.
Profitability.
Superintendents must sign off on every Subcontract / Major PO SOW before they are issued.
Superintendents must review the Cost Projection Reports on a monthly basis.
Develop the H. J Russell Safety Culture.
Safety glasses 100% of the time.
Incentive plan to recognize good safety.
Disciplinary plan for safety infractions – 3 strikes and you're out?
Standardized Subcontractor orientation with video.
Project specific orientation sticker on hard hat so it is easily recognizable each worker on the site has gone through the orientation.
Superintendents perform weekly.

Standardized Line Strike Plan
All subcontractors must pull a daily permit from the Superintendent before any digging commences each day.

Responsible for the bottom-line Gross Profit of the Group.
Responsible for the overall management of the team, all day-to-day operations of the Group, the management of all associated construction projects, and the delivery of all associated construction services.
Work with the VP to formulate and responsible for administering short-term goals, long-term goals, objectives, strategies, policies, and operational procedures.
Review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to assess performance of the Group and progress toward achievement of strategic goals and objectives.
Work with the Marketing Manager to identify new business opportunities and bolster company marketing material through customer satisfaction and diligent execution of projects.
Monitors all management activities to ensure that contractual obligations are met, client satisfaction is assured, and each project meets projected profit margins.
Ensures that the Group is staffed with appropriately trained professionals, and that employees of the Group are afforded the opportunities necessary to develop and enhance their skills and abilities.
Monitors the pre-construction analysis, assessment, and pricing of new business opportunities to ensure that competent and credible proposals are submitted to owners / clients.
Accountable for the overall performance and growth of the Group. Responsible for progress reporting and finance forecasting as directed by the VP of Construction or CEO.
Performs work in a safe manner and actively promotes a culture of planning for safety. Lead by example and always comply with all safety rules and regulations, including wearing of all personal protective devices.

Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects (Joint Venture experience a plus) and
ability to drive annual revenues to $100M.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction.
Fifteen years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience with Joint Venture delivery method is a plus.
Experience working in the North Texas Market
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
