    Assistant Principal Position

    Our Lady of Perpetual Help is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Principal to join our administrative team.

    The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering professional growth among our faculty and aligning the curriculum to the school's mission and values.

    Our Lady of Perpetual Help prioritizes individualized learning, holistic education, and the spiritual development of our students. The Assistant Principal will play a crucial role in supporting our educators in achieving these goals.

    Job Summary


    Reporting directly to the Principal, the Assistant Principal assists in day-to-day operations to help make Christ's mission present and enduring in the school.

    The Assistant Principal aids in management of the school, faculty, staff and students with major emphasis on curriculum and professional development, as well as student discipline.

    The position's primary responsibilities will be internal as the Principal oversees external operations including long-range planning, financial management and strategic goal setting.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment


    Observes teachers regularly, conducting formal and informal observations; provides ongoing feedback to teachers on instructional delivery and structure substantive feedback for more significant areas of growth.

    Assists with implementation of diocesan curriculum and design of professional development around this curriculum.


    Plans and interprets benchmark assessments; meets with teachers regularly to plan units, examine assessments and student data, and provide feedback on instruction and curriculum design.

    Assists the principal in planning school wide professional development.

    Supports teachers in curriculum, classroom management, and discipline.

    Helps teachers incorporate technology to effectively create a 21st century learning environment within the classroom.

    Provide a supportive climate for teachers to develop innovative programs.

    Supports teachers in practicing positive, consistent discipline in management of the classroom.

    Manages and maintains staff and parent communication using RenWeb (report cards, progress reports, grade books...)


    Collaborates with the Principal and educators to assess curriculum needs, identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for enhancing instructional practices and student learning outcomes.

    Leads curriculum development initiatives to ensure alignment with Diocesan standards, Catholic teaching and best educational practices.


    Provides guidance and support to teachers in the implementation of differentiated instruction, assessment strategies and the integration of technology into the curriculum.

    • Supports the principal in planning, managing and supervising school operations andinstructional programs and assumes responsibility in the Principal's absence.


    Evaluates and provides direction to a variety of faculty, staff, and student programs and services; provides recommendations, suggestions for improvement and support as appropriate.

    Assists the principal with recruiting, hiring, supervising, supporting, developing, and evaluating, of faculty/staff.

    Communicates proactively with faculty, staff, students, and parents.

    Prepares and presents reports, letters, memos, and other necessary correspondence to students, staff, and parents regarding school site matters.

    Assists in the implementation of diocesan policy.

    Collaborates with the Principal to develop and implement school-wide initiatives, policies and procedures.


    Supports the Principal in maintaining a positive school climate, resolving conflicts and promoting effective communication among staff, students, parents and community members.

    Professional Requirements

    Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education as a mission of the Catholic Church

    Catholic candidate in good standing with the Catholic Church.

    Master's degree in an education-related field required.

    Has at least 18 hours in educational administration and supervision courses

    High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations in a professional manner.

    Ability to communicate effectively with all school stakeholders.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Working knowledge of student database software.

    Demonstrated proficiency in providing leadership in the implementation and supervision of curriculum, instruction, and assessment processes.

    Proficiency in analyzing and implementing educational research regarding student learning, academic resources, and programming.
