SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER CONTRACTOR (temporary)

We are I'RAISE, a small non-profit organization in New York City. We focus on mental health advocacy/services + program, and academic enrichment program at underserved NYC schools


Our Integrative Mental Wellness School Program in New York City is looking for
ONE Part-time School Social Worker Contractor (temporary) that is able to commute to one school in the Bronx for 4 days per week.


Monthly Temporary Contractor Role Details:

Friday, June 27th, 2024


Payment Process:
Monthly Invoice (net 30)


Contingency:

The contractor's pay is contingent upon doing their workshops and sessions, getting session and case notes, attendance of the students/participants, and providing documentation/reports to the company at the end of each month and providing a monthly invoice.


School Social Worker Contractor Job Functions:

  • At the Bronx School (PS 78), provide counseling and mental health services to assigned youth through evidence-based interventions and culturally sensitive approaches, 4 days per week
  • Develop treatment plans supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral goals.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, evaluating mental, social, and functional capacity.
  • Offer crisis intervention and mentoring for students; provide guidance to school personnel.
  • Communicate and collaborate with school officials, parents, and guardians.
  • Assist with parent and teacher workshops; participate in evaluation and placement of special needs students.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with families, facilitating social adjustment and utilizing community resources. Develop and maintain written reports, records, and act as a case manager for designated students.
  • Coordinate, develop, monitor, and evaluate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Observe pupils in classrooms/playgrounds; supervise Social Work Interns.
  • Maintain a caseload minimum for individual and group counseling per month.
  • Engage in research and evaluation efforts, tracking clients' clinical and academic outcomes

Job Requirements / Qualifications:


  • LMSW required
  • Must provide a copy of MSW College Diploma and a LMSW License
  • At least 3 to 4 years of social work experience
  • Must be able to work Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 2 pm ET and commit to Month of May and June schedules
  • Must have experience with Bullying Prevention Workshops and conduct mental health related, professional / personal developed related, and parent supportrelated workshops
  • Must have individual, group, and family session experience and expertise

Must have completed the Department of Education (DOE) Background / Fingerprint Clearance within the past three years and have eligible status.
