    Position Requirements

    Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Certificates and Licenses:
    • ARRT certified or eligible for ARRT registry within three months of hire
    • Current BCLS certification
    • Current CPR certification
    • Must complete annual education requirements
    • Must maintain regulatory requirements
    • Valid driver's license
    • Must meet insurance underwriting requirements
    Equipment:

    X-ray machine

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Math Ability:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Education/Experience:

    Associate's degree (A. S.) or equivalent in Radiologic Technology from two-year college or technical school; and less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of radiation. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.

    Description

    Performs radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Works effectively with patients and families, and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel by performing the following duties.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    1. Performs radiographic procedures as prescribed by a physician.*
    2. Operates DR equipment.*
    3. Determines proper technique through the selection of voltage, current, and exposure time.*
    4. Positions patients for the proper view of the affected area.*
    5. Instructs patients as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure.*
    6. Prepares contrast media and administers to patients either intravenously or through other body cavities.*
    7. Maintains technique charts in rooms in compliance with state law.*
    8. Operates portable radiographic equipment and monitors its operation.*
    9. Complies with infection control procedures.*
    10. Responsible for performing EKG examinations.*
    11. Travel to any area as needed.*
    12. Responsible for inspecting and maintaining all equipment and company vehicle.*
    13. Attends at least one-half of staff meetings.
    14. Takes calls according to monthly schedule.
    15. Performs other duties as assigned
