Job Summary:


  • This position is scheduled to begin Jan 2025. The purpose of this Faculty position is to collaborate and support the AAFA degree and certificates (CCL's) in Technical Theatre. This person will collaborate with the Theatre faculty and staff to support and sustain the occupational program. This faculty member will primarily teach occupational courses within their area of expertise but will also serve as a generalist in the Theatre discipline, teaching an array of theatre courses. Areas of expertise may include lighting technology, master electrician, construction of costumes, wigs and makeup, scenic construction, properties, and welding. This faculty member must align the program to USITT standards and build connections with professional venues for student internships and future employment. MCC produces four shows a year, two per semester following the League of Resident Theatre (LORT) production practices. These are cocurricular, collaborative productions, which are learning environment based, that are vital for the success of students. This faculty member will collaborate with the Theatre Faculty and production staff on all department shows.
