Description
Under the general supervision of an Administrator II, the Accountant Technician performs accounting duties in the establishment and maintenance of accounts and financial records for the Franchise Tax Board (FTB).
Typical duties include preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial reports and statements, preparing claim schedules for State Controller's Office, completing manual refund entries on Taxpayer Information System (TI), processing fund transfers, and performing on-line transactions.
Additional duties include researching and resolving account discrepancies. You also maintain working relationships with FTB Personnel, vendors, contractors, and state control agencies.- Separation of Duties
- The duties for this position include responsibilities covered by SAM Section 7280. To ensure proper separation of duties, you may not be eligible for this position if a family member (husband, wife, brother, or sister) works in the Accounting Section.

Working Conditions
- This position is eligible for remoteworking within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum inoffice requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
