    Job DescriptionAbout the Role:

    The Accounts Receivable (AR) Supervisor is a key role within the accounting department, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the AR function.

    You will lead a team of specialists to ensure efficient and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and customer accounts. This role plays a critical part in upcoming ERP system implementation and will identify opportunities for continuous improvement.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Supervise and lead the AR team, ensuring timely and accurate customer billing and collections.
    Manage workload distribution and delegate tasks to optimize team performance.
    Train new hires on AR processes and procedures.
    Monitor and maintain key AR performance indicators (KPIs) like Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and bad debt.
    Conduct performance evaluations and set goals for AR staff.
    Review and approve timesheets, ensuring accurate timekeeping.
    Maintain and update AR procedures and internal controls (SOX).
    Analyze customer accounts, identify and address non-payments and discrepancies.
    Research and resolve customer payment issues through phone or email communication.
    Manage the credit application process for new customers.
    Maintain accurate customer data within the ERP system (SAP preferred).
    Perform general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis reports.
    Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
    Manage sales tax exemption certifications.
    Analyze variances related to month-end close activities.
    Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance within the department.
    Participate in special projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.


    Qualifications:
    Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or accounting.
    Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
    Proficiency in SAP software a plus.
    Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Team player with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
