Project Manager II - Southeastern Division:


Mission & Authority:


As a follower of Jesus Christ and a minister of His Gospel, model a full understanding of Young Life's ministry strategy and equip and lead a team of staff in providing excellent camping experiences for individuals to encounter Jesus Christ and know the truth of God's love for them.


Department Specific:


Through both formal training and direct experience, learn how to effectively carry out and manage the responsibilities of the role, as a Project Manager II.


Essential Duties:


Spiritual Formation:
Intentionally provide opportunities for staff to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus.

  • Participate in opportunities for growing deeper in your relationship with Jesus.
  • With direction from supervisor, develop an annual personal spiritual growth plan.
  • Foster an environment where department staff have opportunities for ongoing spiritual development, including execution of their personal spiritual growth plan.

Attentive Hospitality:
Equip servant leaders who anticipate and respond to the needs of our camp staff and vendors, through Christ-like service.

  • Establish a department posture of service that anticipates camp leadership, staff and vendor's needs and responds with professionalism through intentional decisions and systems.
  • Assist the Director of Construction in actions to support the Acquisition of Property process including due diligence steps, conceptual master plans and gross magnitude estimates.

Interpersonal Relationships:

Help build relationships that reflect the character of God with camp staff, vendors, and construction workers to foster healthy community.


  • Build relationships that reflect the character of God among project teams, camp staff, camping leadership, vendors, and construction workers to foster healthy community.
  • Ensure project teams demonstrate the importance of their interpersonal relationships with camp staff, vendors and construction workers and promote a healthy community.

Comprehensive Stewardship:
Manage with integrity the finances, people, buildings, and equipment that have been entrusted to our ministry.

  • Develop and equip staff to participate in comprehensive stewardship of the Construction Services department.
  • Capital Budgeting and Reporting
  • Prepare detailed and comprehensive capital budgets for individual masterplanned projects.
  • Prepare the reports relating to construction progress and cash flow, together with projected expenses, and review/comment on the monthly financial accounting reports for each of the assigned capital projects.
  • Construction of Projects
  • Within the context of the approved design and capital budget, manage the construction of infrastructure and buildings in a professional manner within the Young Life Construction Management processes.
  • Develop reasonable project schedules for the duration of the work to allow the field and camp staff to plan and commission the facility for its opening and use.
  • Construction staff will have completed their work when the projects are commissioned, the punch lists are complete, and the asbuilt drawings are turned over to the camp staff.
  • Manage the timing of Capital Authorization Requests ("CARs") for approval including their initiation. The project manager will authorize the contractor to proceed with construction once the CAR is approved.
  • When construction activity is underway at an existing and operating camp, the project manager must give special consideration to construction activities when guests are in camp. It is the responsibility of the project manager to coordinate with the camp staff for the construction activities during these periods.
  • Ensure that construction activity is done in a safe manner and that contracted persons conduct themselves in accordance with Young Life's standards.

Through a consistent and accountable evaluation process, we identify and provide opportunities for staff in continuing education, leadership development, career-pathing and cross-training.


  • Demonstrate a desire to grow through engagement in the Individual Development Plan process and participation in training and development opportunities.
  • Foster department staff participation in the Individual Development Plan process as well as other training and development opportunities.
  • Intentionally pursue opportunities in mission leadership, personal growth, and development.
