Position: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Plano, Texas, United States

About the Role: Are you passionate about pioneering in the technology space and solving complex business problems in a fast-paced and collaborative environment? At Capital One, you'll be part of a team of makers, breakers, and disruptors working towards real customer solutions. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving a major transformation within the company.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
Work with experienced developers in areas like machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and Open Source databases, along with Cloud-based data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.
Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in tech communities, and mentor other team members.
Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that empower millions of users towards financial success.
Conduct unit tests, reviews, and ensure coding is optimized for performance.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum 4 years of application development experience.
At least 1 year of big data technologies experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of application development with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
2+ years of experience with public clouds like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Distributed data tools like MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, etc.
Real-time data experience, NoSQL implementation, data warehousing, UNIX/Linux, and Agile practices.
