Merchandise Data Analyst

NOTE:
This position reports to the SVP of Merchandise and Marketing and does not supervise others.


SUMMARY:


The Merchandise Data Analyst provides a statistical and financial foundation for merchandising decisions and consults other departments on merchandising practices and tactics.

They provide and manage the data for product review process, location acquisitions and act as category management advisors for companywide initiatives.

In addition to tracking sales performance, and team objectives, they monitor part type categories to ensure profitability objectives are met.

You will be a key member of a growing and passionate group focused on collaborating across the business to drive forward key programs and projects across the Fisher Auto Parts chain.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Merchandise Data Analyst will:

  • Solving problems through data analysis and reporting.
  • Consulting with Product Directors on business decisions to provide a statistical and financial foundation.
  • Querying tables to extract data necessary to perform analysis.
  • Analyzing electronic catalog data in ACES and PIES format to determine coverage gaps/opportunities
  • Able to communicate and work crossfunctionally with team members.
  • Develop strong partnerships with business management teams and participate in category planning meetings.
  • Demonstrate consistent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business processes and data into an easily understandable format.
  • Grow knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the automotive aftermarket and competitor trends.
  • Other projects as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering, or comparable field.
  • Automotive aftermarket experience is a plus.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Two to four years of experience writing complex SQL statements
  • Two to four years of experience writing Python scripts
  • Experience with BI tools such as Amazon Quick Sight is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:


  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted or greater than 50 lbs. with assistance;
  • Work environment involves mínimal exposure to physical risks, such as proximity to office equipment and household type chemicals;
  • Able to properly utilize office equipment such as computer, phone, fax, copier, scanner, etc.;
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally climb/descend stairs;
  • Occasionally walk, stand, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, push, pull, crouch, squat, bend, twist, stoop, climb, balance, talk, speak, and hear;
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
  • Must have considerable mobility;
  • Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with general public, to respond to others, and to make entries on reports, logs, and records;
  • Follow all company policies/rules including safe driving policies and procedures and report any and all accidents / injuries immediately to management.
