Job Purpose:
Essential Duties:
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering and analyzing bid documents, blueprints,
- Review and confirm building codes and jurisdictional requirements for each project.
- Prepare quantitative takeoffs to identify material and labor requirements of each
- Manage bids from vendors and subcontractors.
- Review vendor quotes for accuracy.
- Identify time requirements for each project.
- Identify and mitigate possible risk on each project.
- Prepare and send RFI's to obtain required information.
- Prepare comprehensive bid summary for review and submission by Chief Estimator.
- Adhere to bid deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years previous electrical estimating experience required.
- Sound knowledge of the NEC.
- Experience with power company requirements.
- Experience obtaining and calculating permit costs.
- Experience working with vendors and knowledge of vendor product lines
- Strong understanding of bidding documents.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and specs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excell skills preferred.
- Proficient in general computer skills.
- Experience using estimating software. Accubid Anywhere is preferred.
- Experienced with on screen takeoff. Accubid Live Count, Blue beam, etc.
- Experience using a pricing service
- Trade Services or similar.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge of estimation and analysis Calculations
- Ability to identify risk.
- Detail oriented with strong mathematical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Selfstarter
- Ability to work with minimum direction
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
Pay:
From $55,000.00 per year
