Job Brief


As a Buyer, you are responsible for ensuring that materials are purchased at a reasonable cost, within your budget, and delivered on time.

This position is required to interact with suppliers and negotiate contracts while maintaining good relationships to secure favorable pricing and terms.

They also monitor supplier performance and quality, ensuring that the goods meet the required specifications.

As part of this position, you will also maintain an accurate inventory record and evaluate suppliers based on their financial stability and performance.

In addition to keeping up with market trends, they identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and negotiation skills are vital for success in this job.


Responsibilities:


  • Purchasing materials and supplies required for production.
  • Ensuring timely and costeffective procurement of goods.
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Analyzing market trends to determine the most competitive prices.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure better prices and terms.
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Managing inventory levels and ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Updating and maintaining purchasing records and data.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Requirements and Skills:


  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, vendors, and suppliers
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position preferred
  • Computer expertise including Outlook and Excel proficiency
  • Must be able to understand and perform written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company
  • An understanding of purchase order software platforms
  • Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Strong mathematical skills are required

Pay:
From $45,000.00 per year
