Position Overview
Be a part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and maintaining vibrant public parks in the local area and its surrounding shoreline.
As the Director of Development, you will be responsible for driving revenue generation strategies and fostering critical partnerships to the organization while serving as a key member of the executive leadership team and contributing to the organization's long-term vision and strategic direction.
ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of comprehensive revenue generation strategies
Direct the activities of development committees to support fundraising initiatives and effectively engage key stakeholders
Drive the expansion and diversification of fundraising channels, integrating innovative approaches to enhance donor participation and revenue generation
Provide executive leadership to the Development Department
Build a team to execute the organization's fundraising objectives as the organization grows
Foster a department team culture with a level of high performance and full accountability for results
Ensure donor experiences align with the organization's commitment to excellence through personalized stewardship and engagement
Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, community leaders, and stakeholders to maximize fundraising potential and community impact
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or a demonstrated professional/volunteer work experience
5+ years' executive leadership and management experience in nonprofit, corporate, or similar organizations, demonstrating success in revenue generation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Display the utmost level of integrity
Ability to develop and implement ambitious fundraising strategies
Proven experience in building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Passion for promoting community engagement and environmental conservation
Embrace collaboration and teamwork to achieve shared goals and enhance community well-being
Demonstrate creativity and resilience in addressing community needs
Maintain transparency and accountability in all interactions
As a start-up organization experiencing rapid growth, there is potential for this role to evolve into a Chief Development (CDO) or Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) capacity
Compensation
Salary:
$100,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience
As an additional financial incentive, a bonus structure will be considered after the first six months of employment
