Essential Functions:


  • Advances the university's and general education program's mission and objectives through systematic evaluation of student learning and advancement of outcomes.
  • Oversees general education faculty recruitment, qualifications, development, and evaluation according to institutional and accreditation guidelines.
  • Provides leadership to general education faculty for the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the program's curriculum plan in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
  • Collaborates with academic programs to provide essential connections between GE and disciplinespecific core pathways.
  • Monitors all program publications to ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
  • Generates needed communications, reporting, changes, and representations with accreditation commissions and agencies.
  • Serves as general education faculty in the program's science courses.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • A terminal degree in a science discipline represented in the university's general education program from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience leading a general education program or related discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a fulltime faculty teaching in a general education program.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching in an online teaching and learning environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Action oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and work within a deadlineoriented environment.

- $90-$100k/per year. Salary is dependent on experience and education.


Work Environment:


  • Standard office setting.
  • Typically, duties are performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation.

Physical Demands:


  • The incumbent regularly sits for long periods, walks short distances on a regular basis.
  • Uses hands and fingers to operate an electronic keyboard or other office machines; reaches with hands and arms; speaks clearly and distinctly to answer telephones and to provide information; sees to read fine print and operate computer; hears and understands voices over telephone and in person; and lifts, carries, and/or moves objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
