Description
Essential Functions:
- Advances the university's and general education program's mission and objectives through systematic evaluation of student learning and advancement of outcomes.
- Oversees general education faculty recruitment, qualifications, development, and evaluation according to institutional and accreditation guidelines.
- Provides leadership to general education faculty for the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the program's curriculum plan in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
- Collaborates with academic programs to provide essential connections between GE and disciplinespecific core pathways.
- Monitors all program publications to ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
- Generates needed communications, reporting, changes, and representations with accreditation commissions and agencies.
- Serves as general education faculty in the program's science courses.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A terminal degree in a science discipline represented in the university's general education program from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience leading a general education program or related discipline.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a fulltime faculty teaching in a general education program.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching in an online teaching and learning environment.
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Action oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and work within a deadlineoriented environment.
