Description

Under the direction of the Clinic Supervisor, this position is responsible to consistently handle a high call volume while working on assignments and delivering quality customer service.

The Appointment Clerk will interact with other departments, clinic personnel, and outside providers in a professional and friendly manner, to create and maintain a positive relationship with our internal and external customers.

1.1 Consistently stay logged in to the Queue during working hours except breaks and lunches.

1.2 Able to process and handle a high call volume.

1.3 Schedule appointments in accordance with physician and/or department guidelines.

1.4 Complete appointment reminder calls in accordance to EHR guidelines.

1.5 Utilize the telephone script with patient correspondence.

1.6 Must be familiar with insurance contracts and unacceptable insurances such as other health insurance and other medical groups.

1.7 Cancel/reschedule appointments according to physician schedule changes.

1.8 Greet patients courteously, and smile.

1.9 Exhibit proper telephone etiquette.

1.10 Schedule referral appointments according to protocol

1.11 Review the schedule for any errors and make the appropriate corrections.

1.12 Mail new patient packets to all new patients.

1.13 Handle complaints in a responsible and professional manner.

14 Must have working knowledge of the following programs:


  • NextGen
  • EZ Net System
  • Insurance Websites
  • NextMD
1.15 Perform all projects handled by the department such as SWV, and HEDIS

1.16 Understand how to schedule Interpreter services for scheduled appointments.

1.17 Maintain your work area in a clean and orderly manner.

1.18 Link insurance to medical chart at time of appointment scheduling.

1.19 Process appointment reminders via mail, phone and Phreesia.

1.20 Any other duties assigned.


Requirements:

8.1 High school diploma/certificate required.

8.2 Working knowledge of appointment scheduling and insurances preferred.

8.3 Computers skills and experience preferred.


The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $19.02 and $22.38 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.


If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.


Compensation:
$19.02 and 22.38
