Wedgemere Healthcare is searching for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our management team as Assistant Director of Nursing & Staff Development (ADON/SDC).

As the ADON/SDC/RN, you will support the Director of Nursing Services in coordinating the daily operations of the Nursing Services Department in compliance with current regulations. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks including:

  • Participating in creating and updating nursing policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Conducting orientation, training, and education programs for staff.
  • Identifying facility education needs and implementing training programs.
  • Collaborating with other resident services to enhance nursing coordination.
  • Addressing deficiencies and ensuring quality care from nursing personnel.
  • Participating in surveys and inspections by regulatory agencies.
  • Overseeing proper documentation in nurse's notes.
  • Identifying and resolving problem areas in collaboration with the Director of Nursing Services.

Qualifications:


  • Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license and be in good standing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational abilities.
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals or long term care facilities.
  • Experience in long term care or skilled nursing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines in long term care.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
