To enhance our supportive environment, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.

This vital role focuses on addressing the holistic needs of our students by providing essential support and guidance.


To be a successful School Social Worker - MSW, you should be dedicated to assisting our students, compassionate, and caring.

You should also be knowledgeable of outside services, such as shelters, food banks, medical care, and clinical care.

As a School Social Worker, you will be instrumental in counseling students facing personal and psychological challenges, facilitating their social adjustment, and collaborating with parents and school staff to foster a positive educational experience.

Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of activities—from conducting one-on-one and classroom sessions to addressing critical issues such as school attendance, substance abuse, and teen pregnancy.

Through your expertise, you will ensure that our students have the supportive resources they need to thrive both personally and academically.


Qualifications:


  • A Master's degree in Social Work
  • A license or certification to practice Social Work
  • Experience in an educational environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion and empathy for patients and students
  • Professionalism and discretion
  • Good relationships with relevant social services
  • Some travel required

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bilingual
  • Experience in working with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts clearly and concisely in both individual and group settings
  • Actively promote Career Success Schools and engage in recruitment efforts to attract students
  • Possess a deep understanding of counseling techniques, instructional strategies, and behavioral interventions to support student learning and development
  • Proficient in individual and group assessment methods, data analysis, and statistical evaluation to enhance educational outcomes
  • Familiarity with community resources and ability to facilitate access to support services such as shelters, food banks, and medical facilities
  • Extensive knowledge of specific childhood challenges including abuse and depression, with strategies to address these in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of the unique physical, psychological, and social changes students experience and a desire to help students grow in these areas
  • Wellversed in federal and state educational laws for students with disabilities, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 50
  • Experience with students who are enrolled in alternative education
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and community partners
  • Proactive in problemsolving, eager to take on new responsibilities, and adept at prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Efficient in addressing and resolving inquiries from students and parents in a positive and timely manner
  • Active participation in team discussions, showing openness to new ideas and a cooperative spirit in decisionmaking processes
  • Demonstrate practical expertise and technical proficiency in jobrelated areas

Essential Job Functions:


  • Counsel students facing personal and psychological challenges that impact their academic performance, behavior, and social integration within the school
  • Conduct counseling sessions, develop treatment plans, and organize workshops, while also establishing preventative measures and intervention strategies to support student wellbeing
  • Engage in dialogue with students to identify their needs and areas where they may benefit from additional support or counseling
  • Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to address and resolve students' behavioral and emotional issues by investigating the underlying causes of their distress
  • Facilitate access to external support service
