    Job Description

    This job opportunity is for a role in a restaurant managed by an independent franchisee, distinct from McDonald's USA. The franchisee has the authorization to utilize McDonald's branding and food items while operating the restaurant. However, please note that the franchisee is a separate entity and employer from McDonald's USA. If selected for this position, you will be employed by the franchisee, not McDonald's USA. The franchisee is solely responsible for all employment-related matters within the restaurant, such as recruitment, termination, guidance, oversight, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald's USA does not have authority over employment affairs at the restaurant and will not be involved in the recruitment process or any employment determinations.

    Responsibilities & Duties

    The Assistant Restaurant Leader (ARL) supports the Restaurant Leader across all operational aspects. In the absence of the Restaurant Leader, the ARL takes charge of all operations. Moreover, the ARL oversees daily operations and management, offers guidance to department and shift leaders, and monitors pivotal performance metrics, devising instant action plans for positive outcomes. The ARL should embody a transformational and servant leadership style, acting as a strategic partner under the Restaurant Leader.

    Among the requirements are:

    • Must possess 3-5 years of experience in an Assistant Manager or equivalent managerial position within a hospitality, retail, or restaurant setting with comparable or higher transaction volumes.
    • Must exhibit a Can-Do attitude and dedicate to overall business triumph.
    • Proficiency in understanding, analyzing, and responding to Profit and Loss (PnL) Statements is essential.
    • Competence in implementing labor controls, guiding the leadership team on labor controls, formulating action plans, delegating tasks among leadership, and ensuring task completion.
    • Aptitude for fostering an environment conducive to a joyful, productive, and compliant workplace that centers on our People.
    • Effective communication and goal tracking capabilities are crucial.
    • Tasked with Managing by Walking Around (MBWA) in a way that promotes the use of McDonald's and The Good Food Group's systems, standards, and routines.
    • Ensuring adherence to a compliant performance management procedure.
    • Leading employee-centered training initiatives within the restaurant.
    • Leading a culture of hospitality to position our restaurants as frontrunners in guest service.
    • Oversight of talent acquisition for roles at the restaurant level.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on call as per business requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in an Assistant General Manager or equivalent position in the retail, hospitality, or restaurant sector.
    • Drive to progress further in restaurant management.
