The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for you to join our team at DB InfraGO AG in Düsseldorf as a 3-year apprentice for the position of Track Builder / Civil Engineering Specialist (m/f/d). The vocational school is located in Essen and the training workshop is in Duisburg-Wedau.
What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • You will work with your team on construction sites, maintaining our railway tracks
  • Together, you will work on tracks and switches, inspecting them for any faults and replacing damaged parts
  • You will also renew the stones and gravel layers under the tracks, using modern machinery to make the work easier
  • Ensuring precise measurements to prevent any shaking during train rides will be a key part of your work
  • After your apprenticeship, you will learn different welding techniques and work with the team of track welders throughout North Rhine-Westphalia
