Job Purpose:

The Infection Control Health Coordinator works collaboratively with programs to coordinate the delivery of clinical content for the agency's Infection Control Program.

Work will be a combination of remote work, via phone and computer, and on-site at assigned sites.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage employee and/or client wellness assessments, utilizing guidance/framework developed by Lead Clinician and Educator.
  • Manage completion of daily rounding by phone re: client condition/communicable disease results.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting and questions related to Communicable disease screening for employees and clients.
  • Supports completion of onsite rounding for client wellness checkins, review, and reinforcement of implemented infection prevention measures, including hand hygiene for clients and staff, surface cleaning, and social distancing.
  • Supports Lead Clinician and Educator with managing and supporting all clinical competencies.
  • Assesses availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); train and educate staff on proper use of PPE.
  • Collaborates with Lead Clinician and Educator and the programs regarding communication to clients, guardians, family members and significant others regarding any infection control protocols or any visitation restrictions.
  • Strategize with the operational and clinical teams with the implementation of DHS (Department of Health Services) guidance for LTC and ALF related to communicable diseases and interventions to reduce the spread of communicable diseases as well as any future guidance from WI DHS, CDC, Milwaukee County, or other agencies.
  • Strategize with the operational and clinical teams with planning for and implementing isolation of CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility) or CRC (Crisis Resource Centers) residents who are symptomatic for or confirmed positive for COVID19 or other communicable diseases.
  • Assists Lead Clinician and Educator, with teaching new skills and reinforcing learned skills. Which may include general wellness techniques, safety, diet and nutrition, new procedures and equipment, medications, and emergency procedures.
  • Supports validation of staff competency within program area settings and/or classroom settings, skillbased performance, and clinical settings.
  • Uses critical thinking and problemsolving skills to overcome obstacles that may interfere with the quality of care delivered.
  • Co-Chairs the Infection Control/Clinical Competency Committee and collaborates with the Quality/Compliance team to develop appropriate measures to support program outcomes.
  • Participates in department quality planning activities (ex. Continuous improvement, training, performance metrics, etc.).
  • Provides oversight to all aspects of the Infection Control Program including policies, procedures, and work rules, as developed by Lead Clinician and Educator.
  • Performs special assignments and or projects as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials:_(Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)_


Minimum Required Education:
Preferred, Associate degree or two years equivalent


Minimum Required Experience:
Previous experience in the medical field or in a clinical/healthcare setting.


Required License - Certification - Registration:
Current CPR certification or obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Medical Terminology course and/or certification.


Travel outside of the office:10-20% travel in the communities we serve.


Required Valid Driver's License:
Motor vehicle record acceptable to program and/ or contractual requirements. A valid Wisconsin driver's license, and automobile insurance with minimum limits of $50,000/$100,000 bodily injury and $10,000 property damage.
