Category Analyst

Hybrid - Austin, TX

Summary

Our Retail Client is seeking a passionate Category/Assortment Analyst to join their Assortment Analytics Team in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will deliver data-driven assortment recommendations that exceed customer expectations and drive company goals.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic assortment guidance to Merchandising teams by delivering customer-centric insights
Engage with leadership to define analytical frameworks
Produce quantitative-based merchandising recommendations to enhance category performance
Participate in cross-functional analytics groups and lead the development of standardized reporting tools
Analyze category performance and evaluate recommended assortment changes

Qualifications

Proven ability to make complex analyses accessible to business users at all levels
Demonstrates advanced analytical reporting and visualization skills
Experience with retail software solutions and market syndicated data
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
Intellectual and analytical curiosity
Understands industry trends and emerging challenges
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Models client principles and core values
Willingness to travel occasionally

Education & Experience

BA/BS degree and 3-5 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Marketing Research, or related field preferred
MS or MBA a plus
