    Northeast Treatment Center, (The NET), is one of the largest behavioral health and social service agencies in the Philadelphia Region offering support and hope to individuals and families at times of great stress in their lives.

    NET Is actively seeking result oriented, supportive Substance Abuse Counselors to provide assessment and treatment services in a MAT milieu, deliver recovery based clinical services in individual, family and group venues, maintain an active caseload of patients and maintain patient clinical charts in accordance with NET Steps, PA Department of Health standards, and other city, county, federal and JCAHO/CARF standards, and pursuant to payor contracts and requirements. Full time positions are available at our MAT facility in Northeast Philadelphia

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate's Degree from an accredited college .with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with clinical specialty in administration or the human services) or other related field plus 4 years of paid clinical experience in health or human services agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent, MAT (opiate addicted) and/or co-occurring patients (MH & DA).
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with clinical specialty in administration or the human services) or other related field plus 3 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent, MAT (opiate addicted) and/or co-occurring patients (MH & DA).
    • Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field plus 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent.
    • Computer literacy is an essential qualification.

    ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • The Counselor must receive annually twenty five hours of in- service training in areas supportive of the skill development required by NET and The Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs. One half of these hours may be attained internally and one half may be attained externally.
    • Paid work experience in opiate treatment is strongly preferred.
    • Must understand the opiate "brain disease" concepts and have the ability to apply in therapy.
    • The Counselor must demonstrate genuine empathy and concern for individuals as indicated in our corporate vision, mission, and values statements.
    • The Counselor must adhere to applicable city, county, state, and federal laws and regulations, and JCAHO/CARF and other applicable standards.

    ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Counselor will provide assessment services, as needed, and will determine the level of care, (LOC), based on the PCPC required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
    • The Counselor will maintain an active caseload of patients.
    • The Counselor will be responsible for delivering therapeutic services while maintaining a clinical chart on each patient which will include the development of a Comprehensive Treatment Plan, Progress Notes reflecting each serviced delivered, Treatment Plan Updates and Reviews, Annual Evaluations, Case Consultation, Psychiatric/Medical Referral (as needed) with follow-up documentation and Aftercare/continuing Care Planning. Timeliness and appropriateness of documentation in the clinical chart is governed by The Pennsylvania Department of Health Licensure standards and by all other city, county, federal and CARF standards and in accordance with all contractual agreements with external payors which is generally due 'day of service'.
    • The Counselor is responsible for appropriate documentation which includes the assessment for and admission into the appropriate LOC and continuation of treatment.

    NET will require you to have the following clearances within the last 12 months:

    · PA Child Abuse

    · FBI

    · PA State Criminal

    · If you have not resided in the state of PA for the past 5 years, you will be required to provide a Child Abuse clearance from your state of residence in addition to a PA Child Abuse clearance.

    · Current CPR certification preferred

    · TB test required

    · Health Assessment within the last 12 months required
