    Job Description
    The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is a long standing Behavioral Health facility in the city of Philadelphiaoffering Inpatient and Outpatient Psychiatric and Substance Abuse treatment.
     The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard has always been at the forefront of innovation in providing treatment services for individuals with substance use and mental health challenges. It is a willing partner to the City of Philadelphia in serving City residents. The Center's role in the health and wellness of the citizens of Philadelphia has been. It continues to be critical, particularly given its location and easy access to much-needed services in the surrounding communities.

    We provide effective, evidence-based Behavioral Health services and partner with participants in their wellness journey. Our services include:

    • Substance Use Disorder Services
    • Inpatient Psychiatric Services
    • Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Treatment Services

    We have immediate openings for full-time Counselors to join our team.

    Summary:

    Selected candidates must have a thorough knowledge of principles and practices of counseling techniques as they relate to drug and /or alcohol abuse, physical behavioral and emotional characteristics and manifestations of drug and alcohol dependency, and individual and group behavior. The ability to establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with clients and other treatment team members is vital. Must have the ability to express ideas verbally and in writing.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Complete the Psychosocial History and Evaluation of each assigned client within the first week of admission.
    • Employ information gathered from Psychosocial history and Evaluation in formulating individualized treatment plan for each client.
    • Provide individual and group counseling services.
    • Complete regular treatment plan updates clearly and concisely with measurable goals.
    • Update treatment in electronic health record.
    Qualifications:Must meet Department of Health (DOH) chapter 704 staffing requirements. Bachelor's Degree with 1-year Counseling experience required; a Master's Degree is preferred. Previous experience working in the Drug and Alcohol Program is preferred. Prior training in ASAM and Confidentiality preferred. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
