Major Responsibilities:

The Welcome Center Case Aide works in collaboration with the case management team assisting newly arrived immigrants residing at the Welcome Center.

The Case Aides will assist newly arrived individuals and families who wish to travel to a final destination outside of the Philadelphia region by coordinating travel.

The Welcome Center Case Adie works actively to help individuals residing at the welcome center with cultural orientation and connection to community resources in and around the Philadelphia region.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:


  • Assists City departments and Welcome Center partners with coordination and execution on bus arrival days.
  • Oversee the travel and reticketing operation for bus arrivals. Including, assessing, and confirming travel plans, purchasing travel tickets for residents wishing to reach another local and coordination of ground transportation.
  • Helps to provide cultural and community orientation to new city and neighborhood.
  • Assist participants with connection to low cost or free immigration legal services
  • Update and maintain Welcome Center reticketing database and spreadsheets as assigned by the City of Philadelphia. Maintain accurate and up to date data.
  • Produce reports in a timely manner;
  • Participate in staff meetings and inservice trainings;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REPRESENTATIVE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of and orientation of philosophy of the Agency's policies as presented in Catholic Social Services Mission Statement.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic values and teachings as you are representing the agency when with clients and other agencies and institutions
  • Knowledge of affordable housing/housing issues facing current resident in and around the City of Philadelphia.
  • Knowledge of community resources, social services, and benefits administered by the county of Philadelphia.
  • Ability to maintain a nonjudgment, supportive communication style during challenging discussions regarding housing options.
  • Ability to responsibly prioritize competing tasks but also follow through in a timely manner.
  • Capacity to follow meticulous recordkeeping/reporting protocols.
  • Ability/Desire to work cooperatively as a team with other staff, the client, and client's circle of support.
  • Availability to occasionally work evenings and/or weekend hours.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in providing services to lowincome immigrant families. This requirement may be substituted by additional relevant education
  • Possess a valid PA State Driver's License and provide proof of automobile insurance/clean driving record.
  • Fully Bilingual (written and oral) in English and Spanish.
  • Bi-Cultural understanding of Spanish speaking communities in and around Philadelphia.
