    We have an immediate opening for a Senior Procurement Specialist, preferably with legal training, to join our team. This position is ideal for a detailed-oriented individual with a strong background in contract negotiations and compliance as well as an entrepreneurial interest to play a significant role in a small company. An advanced degree in law or Government contracting is required and experience with FAR-based Government contracts is highly preferred. The responsibilities and seniority of the position can be scoped to meet the capabilities of the right candidate, up to and including a Director of Procurement role for a candidate that can cover all of the responsibilities listed below. Competitive compensation will be matched to the final responsibilities of the role. This is an in-person position and candidates must be eligible for a TS security clearance (US Citizenship is required).

    Key responsibilities (can tailor to specific candidates):

    • Work with business area leaders and executive staff to formulate specific negotiation strategies to meet Apogee's business needs. Apply those strategies to negotiate contracts and subcontracts, balancing risks and rewards over both the short- and longer-term including building positive, long-term relationships with our customers and subcontractors. Use a deep understanding of the principles of contracts to enable case-by-case judgment calls to optimize each negotiation.
    • Review contracts, subcontracts and other regulatory documents for compliance concerns. Work with other leaders within the business to craft execution plans that both support the business interests and comply with all relevant contract specifications and Government regulations.
    • Perform active contract and subcontract administration over the full lifecycle of a contract including project set-up and execution, contract modifications and confirming deliverables have been met. Oversee the specific mandates in each contract and make sure that all parties involved fulfill the terms, conditions, rights and obligations to which Apogee Research and its partners have agreed.
    • Support the development and submission of proposals including cost narratives, subcontractor RFPs and evaluations, IP assertions and compliance.
    • Negotiate and manage Non-Disclosure Agreements, Proprietary Information Agreements and Teaming Agreements with partner organizations.

    This role will report to the CFO with significant interactions with the President/CEO and other business leaders. As Apogee has an integrated approach to its business, this role will provide significant exposure to all aspects of running a successful small business and provide motivated individuals opportunities for growth
