The Transportation Coordinator will oversee the management of a fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to regulations.

This role involves maintaining vehicle registrations, scheduling and coordinating services, managing staff, ensuring driver license compliance, billing Medicaid/private payment for services rendered and possessing comprehensive vehicle knowledge.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and maintain the fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are operational and compliant with regulations.
  • Maintain uptodate vehicle registrations and insurance documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate vehicle services, including routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee transportation staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and administrative personnel.
  • Ensure all drivers possess valid licenses and comply with driving regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for safe and efficient transportation operations.
  • Monitor vehicle usage and fuel consumption to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet transportation needs and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Handle billing and invoicing for transportation services provided to Medicaid beneficiaries.
  • Utilize comprehensive vehicle knowledge to troubleshoot issues, assess maintenance needs, and make informed decisions regarding fleet management.

Requirements:


  • Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid Driver's License. (Driving record Required)
  • Previous experience in transportation management or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with billing procedures, preferably Medicaid billing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in transportation management or related field.
  • Experience working with Medicaid billing systems.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software.
  • Leadership experience in supervising transportation staff.

Working Conditions:

  • This position primarily operates in an office environment but may require 25% travel to oversee transportation operations.
  • Work hours may vary, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate transportation needs.
