Description
The Transportation Coordinator will oversee the management of a fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to regulations.This role involves maintaining vehicle registrations, scheduling and coordinating services, managing staff, ensuring driver license compliance, billing Medicaid/private payment for services rendered and possessing comprehensive vehicle knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are operational and compliant with regulations.
- Maintain uptodate vehicle registrations and insurance documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate vehicle services, including routine maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee transportation staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and administrative personnel.
- Ensure all drivers possess valid licenses and comply with driving regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for safe and efficient transportation operations.
- Monitor vehicle usage and fuel consumption to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet transportation needs and ensure timely service delivery.
- Handle billing and invoicing for transportation services provided to Medicaid beneficiaries.
- Utilize comprehensive vehicle knowledge to troubleshoot issues, assess maintenance needs, and make informed decisions regarding fleet management.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Driver's License. (Driving record Required)
- Previous experience in transportation management or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with billing procedures, preferably Medicaid billing.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in transportation management or related field.
- Experience working with Medicaid billing systems.
- Familiarity with fleet management software.
- Leadership experience in supervising transportation staff.
Working Conditions:
- This position primarily operates in an office environment but may require 25% travel to oversee transportation operations.
- Work hours may vary, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate transportation needs.
