Description

Thermo Pac Sanitation Techs are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the production equipment, machinery, utensils, and all production areas to ensure the highest level of food safety.

Approximate hours 10:30pm - 7:30a. 3rd shift also receives a shift premium of $1.00. Must be available to work OT and weekends as needed.


This is not a housekeeping or janitorial position. This position requires mechanical knowledge. You will be cleaning/flushing pipes, drain, kettles, machinery and more and repairing equipment as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Cleans by CIP system of kettles, tanks, lines, pumps, floors, walls, and other areas, and types of equipment as assigned
  • Dismantle hoses, connections, clamps, pumps, lines or pipes and clean per SOP
  • Reassembles equipment, piping, pumps, connections and systems per SOP
  • Operates foaming equipment and high pressure washing systems
  • Handles cleaning chemicals according to MSDS and safe handling procedures
  • Visually inspects all parts of equipment for cleanliness and allergen residue
  • Utilizes push broom, squeegee or mop to sweep and clean floors and remove standing water
  • Cleans debris from floor area and disposes of properly.
  • Prepares machines, hoppers, kettles, piping and other components such as metal detectors as necessary for Production needs
  • Performs routine maintenance, such as gasket and o ring placement, pump seals, lubrication of parts and fitting replacement.
  • Clean assigned area by collecting trash, including boxes, plastic, packets, damaged materials, etc.
  • Cleaning other areas as assigned
  • Cross train other sanitation department areas
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner following GMP and Plant Safety guidelines and keeps work area audit ready.

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of experience preferred
  • Sensory or judgmental criteria
  • Associating with people in a professional manner
  • Routine, Continuous performance of specific job duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of chemicals, cleanliness, and odors
  • Visual acuity needed for color coded equipment for cleaning and chemicals

Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time as well as walk and climb stairs.

Bending and squatting may be required along with lifting up to 50 pounds.

The Warehouse Lead is frequently required to use arms to reach out and us hands to grasp objects and/or controls.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
