Description

Medical Front Desk receptionist arranges for efficient and orderly checking in and out of patients for eye surgeons.

Locations:
Primarily working out of Whittier, with potential to work in West Covina, Whittier, Pomona, Pasadena offices. May require travel between offices

Full Time Position: 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri; hours 8:30a to 5:00p

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Registers patients and ensures that accurate information is collected and that patients are made aware of office policies.
Schedules all appointments, collects payments, enters charges, and issues receipts.
Provides referrals and maintains smooth operations of all front desk activities at all times.
Comfortable with checking insurance authorizations.
Triages all incoming telephone calls/faxes and routes to appropriate person.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

One year experience in healthcare setting required. Ideally experience in an ophthalmology or optometry office.

High School Graduate with computer experience (must be comfortable with Electronic Medical Record software as well as Microsoft Word and Excel).
Good writing and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment required given some clients are cosmetic patients.
