    Job Summary: Work closely with the Tooling Manager to provide detailed tooling planning, scheduling, and cost estimating to maximize availability and reliability of tool room equipment while achieving budgeted targets, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, and taking into account all environmental, health, and safety considerations.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, five years of automotive manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must have basic knowledge of Tooling Management systems.
    • Must have a strong knowledge of Tool Room Best Practices
    • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with the ability to develop and maintain reports and graphs, and inventory management system (CMS)
    • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems is preferred.
    • Must have excellent organization, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and adapt to changes in schedules and requirements.
    • Must have a good knowledge of the English language.
    • Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949

    Essential Functions:

    • Oversee, direct, and coordinate the scheduling and planning of all Tooling and Equipment in the tool room.
    • Monitor work progress on individual work orders and influence scheduling changes with the Tooling Department.
    • Controls MRO Tooling and Equipment spare parts inventory
    • Ensure continuous improvements at all levels and in all processes within the scope of responsibility.
    • Manage the departmental budgets for equipment costs, planned shutdown activities, etc.
    • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and reporting of Tooling Department activities through reports and graphs.
    • Order all essential materials/equipment/etc. required for the Tooling Department.
    • Create and manage Tooling department internal procedures and documentation.
    • Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Tooling Manager
    • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

    Language Skills:

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Work Environment:

    • 70% Office Environment, 30% Plant Floor (PPE Required)

      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to crouch/kneel and lift/move up to 25 pounds.

    Health and Safety:

    • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures.
    • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company.
