- Develop and execute purchasing strategies for protein products, including monitoring macro trends in the supplier base, implementing responsive plans, and executing strategies for products. Proficiency in reviewing and understanding commodity-related data is crucial.

- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as supplier and distributor partners, client teams, and internal clients. Extensive cross-functional interaction is required.
- Identify opportunities, assist with problem-solving and root cause analysis, offer solutions, and suggest process improvements.
- Assist the team in buying strategy across assigned categories to determine and deliver the best quality, service, and costs.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage the protein category efficiently.
- Assist with or lead the RFP process for new and existing products and services, including distribution, evaluation, and vendor selection.
- Provide various reporting and analytics as necessary, such as inventory, spend profile, volume reporting, pricing analysis, commodity data, etc.
- Coordinate client meetings using cross-functional internal and external resources, prepare meeting materials, and present to all levels of the client's organization.
- Minimize the risk of supply disruption.
- Identify supply and supplier issues, develop solutions, and reach consensus to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Buyers Edge Platform companies to cross-sell various programs and capabilities to assigned clients, identifying potential solutions to offer.
- Support RPP and Buyers Edge Platform companies in achieving annual revenue goals.
- Learn and effectively utilize RPP's data platforms, such as ArrowStream, Inside Track, and assigned clients' distributor reporting platform, to extract data, analyze, and provide insights to clients.
- Stay informed on industry trends, commodity markets, logistics and distribution trends, consumer insights, etc., to stay ahead in the Foodservice/Hospitality sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Foodservice/Hospitality, or related business fields.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience and/or training in procuring protein items.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn and utilize various software platforms and databases.
- Aptitude for calculations and application of basic math concepts.
- Effective communication skills through oral presentations and written correspondence.

We are currently seeking applications from remote employees, but candidates willing to work in our Orlando office on a hybrid basis will receive preference. This position may involve traveling approximately 10-20% of the time based on the location of clients, suppliers, and distributors, as well as for conferences. As Senior Director of Procurement – Land and Sea Proteins, you will be responsible for procuring land and sea proteins for over 100 clients and supporting other brands within the Buyers Edge Platform. This role entails leading the protein category and supplier management activities, as well as implementing the procurement strategy across various areas of protein spend (Beef, Pork, Poultry, and Seafood). Responsibilities include reviewing proposals, supplier selection and management, commodity analysis, invoice review and approval, budget assembly and reconciliation, project coordination, evaluating price trends, KPI analysis, new product development, and sourcing. This role demands a hands-on approach with limited supervision, requiring initiative and drive. You must have broad, relevant business knowledge and be capable of prioritizing competing initiatives effectively. Additionally, excellent communication skills across all levels of the enterprise are essential.
