DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


As an Aide Trainee, you will be responsible and accountable for learning the duties of a Residential Services Aide and begin with a paid in-classroom and on-the-job training program.

You will learn how to care for and assist people with Intellectual Disabilities living at the Selinsgrove Center.

Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period as an Aide Trainee, you will be promoted to a Residential Services Aide.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
  • Fulltime employment.
  • Work hours after training: 2nd shift (2:00 PM 10:30 PM)
  • Rotating break days with every 3rd weekend off.
  • Overtime: As needed.
  • Travel: As needed.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • No previous experience needed, training provided.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:


  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
