thirteen holidays annually and our centers are closed.

Additionally, if the holiday falls on a weekend day, we will be closed the Friday or Monday closest to the holiday.





POSITION:
Teen Coordinator, temporary 3-6 months


LOCATION:
Harrington Clubhouse**



REPORTS TO:
Director of Operations





HOURS OF WORK:
Full-Time, 12pm-8pm, during the Worcester Public School year and 8am-4pm during the summer and school vacation weeks. Scheduling flexibility required for events.





WORK STATUS:
Non-Exempt


Reporting to the Director of Operations (and working closely with the Operations Manager), the
Teen Coordinator isresponsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the programs and services to teens years of age) and to promote/recruit program participation, and assist in registering new teen members.


In collaboration with associated Program Directors in overlapping areas, responsible for developing and structuring quality programs to achieve priority outcomes in the areas of Academic Success, College & Career Prep, Leadership and Healthy Habits.


Qualification Requirements:


Education:
Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university
preferred and/or equivalent experience.


Experience:

A minimum of three years' work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.


Skills/Knowledge required in the following areas:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Group leadership skills including and understanding of group dynamics.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications, preferred.

KEY ROLES- Competency Areas:

Prepare Youth for Success


  • Plan and implement the delivery of agency programs and activities that support the Club's priority outcome
  • Provide daytoday program activities in accordance with established standards and goals (e.g. Keystone Club/Leadership Groups, Teen Nights, College & Career Prep).
  • Manage teen space and ensure a productive environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
  • Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/ activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area (s).
  • Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.
  • Provide opportunities for teens to interface/interact with business professionals and community leaders.
Supervision

  • Ensure proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events, conduct breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any problems/issues.
  • Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely information and promotional materials.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • May be required to periodically drive Club van.
  • May be required to transport members or meals from local food service programs; lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May consult with parents concerning member and Clubhouse issues.
  • Perform light cleaning and assume other duties as assigned.
