Construction Company located in New Rochelle is looking for someone that is self-motivated, organized and can work independently with a set of routine responsibilities associated with Accounting (P/R Clerk).

This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to be challenged, build long-lasting relationships, and be a part of building our accounting team.

The position is for a long-term hire. Schedule is Monday-Friday, Full Time in office setting. Please provide a resume and indicate salary requirements in your cover letter.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist our A/R and A/P department by reviewing and submitting invoices for approval as needed.
  • Processing weekly payroll
  • Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data
  • Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
  • Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and nontaxable wages.
  • Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer's payments for social security, unemployment, and worker's compensation
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
  • Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
  • Processing and issuing W2 forms to employees.
  • Preparing quarterly forms and submitting government filings to meet deadlines.
  • Identifying any areas of improvement within the payroll process and leading the implementation of new payroll processes and systems
  • Processing union reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Must understand basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Minimum two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Deltek Computer Ease and HCSS Heavy Job Experience is a plus.
  • Good client service skills
  • Being an effective team player
  • Ability to multitask in a stressful environment with specific deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a timesensitive environment.
  • Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records

Pay:
$ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
