- Saint Patrick Catholic School is currently seeking an Extended Care Team Member for Before and After School Childcare to work with students._
Founded in 2005, Saint Patrick Catholic School (Norfolk, Virginia) is an independent Catholic school with an enrollment of approximately 400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight.
Boasting a vibrant and accomplished team of educators, the school encourages students to develop a growth mindset while creating an educational framework focused on reinforcing six "pillars" of education that support the whole formation of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Provide quality care, support and experiences for students in the Extended Care program
- Escort students safely to/from classrooms and resource centers on campus
- Plan, participate and engage students in various enrichment activities
- Interact with students on an appropriate level
- Model positive and nurturing behavior at all times; promote a culture of respect for all members of the community
- Resolve conflicts as needed and in accordance with 101 Positive Principles of Discipline
- Identify and report any issues or concerns regarding student behavior to the Director of Auxiliary Programs
- Organize and clean spaces that were used for Extended Care before leaving shift
- Perform and adhere to all program guidelines and safety protocols
- Attend regular faculty and department meetings and contribute to teamwork and positive morale
- Perform other duties as directed by school administration
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with children and adults
- Ability to assist children with homework and ageappropriate learning activates
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, crouch, crawl, stoop, and run
- Committed to serving as a role model for student
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year of related experience working with schoolaged children
- First Aid and CPR certifications (preferred)
