Independence is hiring a co-op for our Government Markets - Sales Analytics team.

The student will work to better understand crucial decision points on the prospect and membership journeys (marketing, sales, retention, etc.).

Through this role, the student analyst will also have freedom to delve into the broader realm of Medicare experience through exposure to Risk Adjustment, Stars, and numerous other areas of Government Markets.

They will develop disparate data sources into cohesive market insights and convey strategic opportunities to sales leadership.

As part of an end-to-end shop, analysts explore problems from initial inquiry through data coding/development and ultimately strategy presentation and recommendation.

Success in this role is driven by a curiosity in understanding causes and a relentless pursuit of targeted improvement.


College Student Job Description:

This work can vary from complex database engineering and modeling to simple querying and code refinement.

In any scenario, the purpose is to make sense of huge datasets and provide workable information upon which visualizations can be built or insights can be shared.

Visualization creation - Much of our work focuses on translating large data insights into consumable forms. Regularly, this takes the form of visualization development in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools. We build visuals for presentations, dashboards for ongoing reports, and interactive models for exploratory investigation.

Duties such as, but are not limited to:

  • Monthly and weekly reporting.
  • Preparing reports outlining competitive landscape, sales channel tracking, and other aspects of realtime performance.
  • Code development.
  • Ad hoc requests.
The needs of the Sales & Marketing teams are constantly changing. We are their front-line resource for understanding these sudden shifts. We work directly with the business areas that we support to rapidly meet these needs.


Required Skills:


  • Advanced analytical, technical, and problemsolving skills
  • Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills
  • Experience in Tableau, SQL Data Tools (or similar coding tools), Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to proactively learn, face ambiguous problems, and develop elegant solutions


  • Preferred

  • Knowledge of Medicare/Healthcare; Experience analyzing large data sets

Classification:
Junior, Senior, or Recent Graduate (within one year or less of programs start date: 9/23/24)


Minimum GPA: 3.0
