    Description

    Position Summary

    This position is expected to manage the CAD group and ensure that the 3D models, drawings, and assemblies are of the highest quality. The Product Definition Manager is expected to plan and manage all CAD work, act as the primary administrator for Solidworks PDM, act as a senior checker and manage CAD processes and improvements.

    Principle Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supervises the work of employees in the CAD group, including reviewing and checking drawings/models and signing off for release.
    • Creating high quality parametric models, drawings, and assemblies in Solidworks, sometimes working from 2D layouts.
    • Checking engineering drawings for accuracy and ensuring design intent is met.
    • Managing/Administering Solidworks PDM. This includes managing/creating workflows and engineering change process within PDM.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

    Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering field or equivalent experience

    Experience:

    A minimum of 5 years CAD experience and management experience working in an AS9100 environment or other with similar level of quality requirements.

    Turbomachinery experience a huge plus. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, and experience working with manufacturing groups preferred.

    Other special job requirements: Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills required.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering field or equivalent experience
