The Office of Information and Technology Services (ITS) works to build the capacity of schools to use information and technology, maintain network infrastructure, security standards, and support other departments to meet district goals.

ITS provides innovative technology solutions that improve the quality of education for students, reduce the administrative burden on educators, facilitate parent interaction, increase community engagement, and support CPS' mission of transparency by focusing on the ease and equity of access to information.


Job Summary:


The Director of Enterprise Solution Delivery will support the ITS project portfolio and enhance the business and IT collaboration through strategic solutions creating shared expertise around critical CPS business areas.

This position will oversee the effective, efficient completion of ITS project management, ensuring objectives and business needs are successfully met.

The Director of Enterprise Solution Delivery will report to the Executive Director of IT Business Partnership & Innovation and will lead a team of direct reporting professionals.


The Director, Enterprise Solution Delivery will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide strategic guidance in defining solutions for business needs in partnership with Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure Services, and Service Delivery
  • Support the creation of the ITS portfolio strategy, project prioritization, and roadmap
  • Oversee the execution of districtwide strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring effective coordination between ITS, project management, and business stakeholders throughout delivery
  • Lead the ideation of new capabilities, and design coherent and holistic tech solutions to support business needs; drive proofofconcept initiatives
  • Proactively identify opportunities for the business to effectively leverage technology; act as a technical champion and advocate for the optimization of cloud solutions needed to support CPS' student and financial goals
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the ITS Project Portfolio Management team in business engagement; provide perspective on solution alternatives and potential costs based on strategic understanding of business needs
  • Coordinate the identification of architectural solutions and investigate the associated implications; ensure IT solutions are within the guardrails of enterprise architecture
  • Partner with solutions and product teams to maintain solution fidelity
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing to meet prioritized demands, and continuously monitor delivery status of assigned projects/work to maintain alignment with delivery deadlines and expectations
  • Collaborate with IT Business Partners, Organizational Change Management, Enterprise Architecture, IT Operations, IT Business Operations, IT vendor management, and business stakeholders to prioritize projects and resource requests based on business objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Director, Enterprise Solution Delivery must possess the following qualifications:


Education Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field from an accredited college or university, required
  • Master's degree, preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications/designations such as Project Management Professional (PMP), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Professional Scrum certifications, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Lean-Agile, and/or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), preferred

Experience Required:


  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, including the following, is required:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory/management position responsible for leading teams of direct repo
